MASKS is a portrait series that investigates the phenomenon of the contemporary virtual identity in the physical realm. With the immense power granted to us by social media comes the opportunity to remodel our identities as they appear online in the virtual realm. While this control aids in the ability to endlessly investigate one's identity, it ultimately has the effect of warping the identity that is perceived in the physical realm. Through shooting on large format color slide film with no digital manipulation in post, I attempt to simulate the warping of physical identity in conjunction with the virtual.
